iDS is an iOS app for the Department of Digital Systems at University of Piraeus
iDS is an app dedicated to the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus. It provides on the go information about news, course schedule, job listings, map directions and useful contacts. The app is compatible with iPhones (including iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) and iPads.
If you like the app, you can also like its Facebook page.
Get all the latest news right on your iPhone screen. There is even a widget you can put in your notification center to have instant access to the top three news stories right there. To activate the extension simply open notification center, tap edit and select the iDS widget. The widget updates its content every time you open the notification center.
Tap a news story within the widget and you can read the whole article in the built in Safari web browser.
Take a look on the map to easily find key locations around the Department. If you have location services on, you can get directions right from where you are, or see public transport information about buses and trains that pass by the University area.
Keep notes within the app. Notes are synced automatically across your devices. Started a note on your iPhone and want to continue your writing on the iPad? No problem, Handoff is supported too. Notes rely on Apple's CloudKit framework, so in order to enjoy this functionality you need an iCloud account.
No need for signup or account creation. Just write your notes and iCloud does the syncing job in the background.
iDS bundles also a WatchKit app to view the department's news right on your Apple Watch screen. Push notifications are also forwarded to the Apple Watch for quick access to important alerts.
WatchKit app is only available on iPhone 5 or newer iPhones running iOS 8.2 and above. iPads do not support Apple Watch pairing
You can view the release notes for current and past iDS versions here.
